Contraindications for Cupping Therapy (Hijama)
Relative Contraindications:
These are conditions where cupping can be performed, but only under special conditions, with extreme caution, and after a thorough assessment of the health status. (In these cases, medical tests must be conducted before the session to ensure safety):

Mild or moderate anemia.

Severely low or unstable blood pressure.

Irregular diabetes (provided it is not extremely high).

Cases where blood thinners were not stopped for at least 12 hours (each case must be evaluated individually).

Pregnancy.

General weakness, extreme fatigue on the day of the session, or immediately after intense exercise.

Following recent surgical procedures.

Presence of mild skin inflammation or minor allergies in areas outside the cupping sites.
Absolute Contraindications:
These are conditions where cupping is strictly prohibited due to confirmed health risks:

Very severe anemia.

Acute hypotension (severe drop in blood pressure).

Shock, severe dehydration, or acute collapse.

Severe bleeding disorders (such as Hemophilia).

Use of strong blood thinners or anticoagulants (such as high doses of Warfarin) or having a high INR level.

Active cancerous tumors.

Advanced kidney failure or acute liver failure.

Viral Hepatitis (A, B, or C).

Presence of severe infections, boils, or open wounds in the cupping areas.

Pregnancy (in certain stages or specific types of cupping).

Acute skin infections at the cupping sites.

Very shortly after major surgical operations.

High fever, acute infection, or active contagious diseases.
-
Heart patients with severe arrhythmia (irregular heartbeat) or acute heart failure.
